Single Leg Forward
|
Sit on the floor. Straighten the right leg out in front of you and keep it firm. Bend the left leg as you bring the left foot near your groin. Face the right leg. On an inhale, lift the chest and lengthen the spine. On an exhale, fold forward over the right leg. Try to keep the spine as straight as possible and the head in the same line as the spine. Extend the top of the head in the direction of the right foot. Avoid excessive rounding of the spine. Maintain firmness throughout the legs as you relax the brain. Inhale to come out of the pose. Switch legs and repeat on the left. Tones the liver and spleen, aids in digestion; also tones and activates kidney and stretches the spine. Very calming. |
